There were cheers of “God save the King” and “God save the Queen” as the King and the Queen Consort toured the stalls at Berlin’s Wittenbergplatz food market on day two of their state visit.
His Majesty swapped some Buckingham Palace honey for a jar from stallholder Martin Perschke, saying: “Can I buy one? I’ll swap you one of mine. It’s probably not as good.”
Her Majesty, wearing a silk dress and a brown cashmere wrap coat by Anna Valentine, sampled some Alpine sheep’s cheese.
