Renewing your C1 category driving licence

I have a 2002 Auto-Trail Cheyenne motorhome weighing 3,850kg that my wife and love and, over the years, we've spent a fair bit of time and money getting it up to a condition that suits us. The saga started in 2022, when I was told I needed some surgery and there was a 5% chance of needing a pacemaker. Having read a previous article in MMM about the DVLA not letting a driver with a pacemaker fitted have a C1 licence, I had some concerns.

My licence expired in August 2022 and I needed a medical to retain the C1 or I'd have to change the ‘van.
