SUVs and 4x4s have been around for decades, but it was the original Nissan Qashqai that introduced the crossover concept to the masses. Up until its arrival, decent SUVs that were good to drive, stylish and came with a car-like interior were generally the preserve of premium brands.
But Nissan fixed that with a model that was practical, well made, dynamically engaging and eminently affordable. Unsurprisingly, the Qashqai went on to do great things for the brand, so the stakes were high when an all-new second-generation version was launched in 2014.
We liked it enough to award the car Best Crossover in 2014, then again in 2015. But with the Qashqai Mk2 now almost a decade old, how does it stack up as a used buy?
