30 YEARS AGO – APRIL 1993

Our Outback Travel special for the year was jam-packed with all the info you needed to head into our wild and lightly populated outback. Destination-wise, we went to the Hidden City in the NT, Lake Victoria in western NSW, travelled the Matilda Highway through outback Queensland, and explored the Strzelecki Desert in South Australia, all destinations well worth a visit today.

Pushing the outback theme even further we had a checklist for travellers, along with a comprehensive list of tagalong operators who specialised in outback adventures. There are fewer tagalong operators today, thanks to social media.
