Overcoming injury

For two years and three knee surgeries, I spent many months at home in Copenhagen, Denmark. My days were filled with rehab: strength training, physiotherapy, recovery, and session after session in the gym. Over the two years, I had been working continuously on building back the strength and function in my left leg. Finally, the time had come and my physios had given me the green light for my first kite trip. Nine months after the third surgery, I finally got on a flight to Brazil.

I first injured my knee during the GKA Freestyle World Tour in Ilha do Guajirú at the end of 2020. I broke my ACL and meniscus. The rehab journey was long, and after 12 months I was back in Brazil training again. I
