Nothing feels better than a good chuckle, so thank goodness for these home-grown comedy geniuses who always knew just how to tickle our funny bones.
TRACEY ULLMAN
‘My face is a good one for doing impersonations’
Tracey Ullman’s first comic turns were performed standing on the counter of her father’s shop in Slough. When he died, Tracey mimicked the neighbours to cheer up her (in which the hit animation first appeared) made her name in America, and when she returned to make a series for the BBC in 2016, she became the first British woman to have her own sketch show on both sides of the Atlantic. Now 63, Tracey has scooped a slew of awards, including a BAFTA for her lifetime achievement in comedy.
