It was a marriage that had lasted 17 years and no one had noticed any cracks.

Larry Isenburg, 68, and his wife Laurcene, known as Lori, 67, had a relationship that their friends envied.

Apart from Lori being over generous giving money to her daughters from a previous relationship, there was rarely tension between the pair.

Lori had six children and Larry had two.

Retired forester Larry was a hard worker and always believed that handouts weren’t as useful as giving people the tools to succeed instead.

Honourable Larry didn’t believe in short cuts in life, but he also loved Lori so supported her decisions.

And after all, Lori had a salary of her own.

She worked at North Idaho Housing Coalition, a non-profit organisation
