Like a getaway van speeding away from a heist, the new Chris-Hipkins-led Labour government veers wildly through the streets, running lights and taking corners on two wheels.

Hipkins and his Finance Minister toss bales of money and bodies out the rear doors, attempting to slow down the National Party, which is in close pursuit.

The bodies are the policies of the Jacinda Ardern administration. Over the past two weeks, they’ve disposed of cycleways, public transport, schemes for recycling and cash for clunkers, alcohol reform and lowering the voting age? all cancelled or delayed.
