Coping with WHIPLASH

An unexpected vigorous jerk of the head damages the neck ligaments and tendons. It’s been strained rather then broken, but may take months to heal.

Symptoms include pain, stiffness and a temporary loss of movement in the neck, plus headaches, muscle spasms and pain in the shoulders or arms. You may also experience numbness, or pins and needles, in the arms and hands, dizziness, tiredness, difficulty swallowing, blurred vision, vertigo and tinnitus.
