Bliss,’ Pamela sighed contentedly as she lay back in the warm bathwater. ‘Peace and quiet at last.’
There was a knock on the door and her shoulders immediately tensed up. ‘Can’t you read?’ she snapped.
‘Sorry, Mum, where’s my football kit?’
The Do Not Disturb sign she’d hung outside the bathroom door obviously wasn’t working.
‘Have you looked in your drawer?’ Pamela asked through gritted teeth.
‘Um…no, but I will. Sorry, Mum. Just noticed your sign.’
