THE cost of living crisis is biting hard and all of us are tightening our belts and looking for ways to make money go further.

Gardening has not remained immune, with the cost of plants, equipment, feeds and compost heading north over the past year.

Ours can be an expensive hobby when you tot up everything you buy over the course of the year and that can be off-putting to many of usalso trying to juggle food and fuel prices along with everything else.
