A ROYAL ENFIELD 700 SUPER Meteor recently arrived in the workshop with ignition problems. Like many customers, the bike becomes a bit of an old friend, you get to know them – and this one really needed new distributor parts or electronic ignition fitting, as I knew the points cam was worn.
There are arguments both for and against electronic ignition (EI) as, yes, you are unlikely to be able to repair at the roadside or in the workshop, but they are generally maintenance-free and with standard systems, the lengthening of time, and poor or already worn replacement parts, sometimes converting to electronic ignition is
