A Day in the Life of… Simon Shaw

The alarm goes off at 7.30am. I take a couple of minutes to wake properly, then it’s up to let our Cocker Spaniel, Florrie, out into the garden.

Kettle on, tea and cereal, ready to leave the house by 8.45am if possible. I’ve got a 15-minute drive or 30 minutes by train/foot journey to my workshop. I enjoy both modes of transport… the practicality of the car, but the walk does me good, and the train can be 10 minutes to mentally switch off… no book or phone distractions.
