FEW of us would consider life without electricity as being pleasurable – but going off the grid is a camper’s delight.

Of course, taking off into nature is nowhere near the same as being stuck at home with a long list of things that are off kilter thanks to loadshedding.

But there’s something to be learnt from those who love to rough it – here, a few South African camping enthusiasts share their top tips for getting through the days without electricity using items you can buy at regular stores that stock camping gear and goods.
