“ Always on the lookout for a new region to explore, we were excited to find out about the Catalan region of Garrotxa, where extinct volcanoes promised plenty to interest my geology-mad husband, combined with lots of walking trails and historic villages. Better still, the area is not far inland of Figueres, so was close to our usual haunts on the coast.
