At a glance, THE CONFESSIONS OF FRANNIE LANGTON – adapted by Sara Collins from her novel – looks a lot like Bridgerton. It’s set in the early 19th century and features a cast of all hues, but that’s where the similarities end.
Described by the Guardian as “grinding [and] pitiless, you could call this the anti-Bridgerton. The opening two episodes deliver a rich brew of forbidden love, slavery, racism and sinister eugenics.”
