’73 CUSTOM TYPE 181

It must first be said that this isn’t Eric Latour’s first rodeo. Passionate about VWs since the age of 15, he has been helping other local VW ‘addicts’ in the Bordeaux region of France with their projects, ranging from Beetles through a ’66 Split Bus to a Beach Buggy, as well as building himself a mighty fine ’61 Cabriolet Beetle that graced the cover of issue 282 of Super VW magazine, but we’re here to talk with the modest man about this Type 181.

In fact, it was by helping another local enthusiast, Philippe Lanoire, who has a penchant for the Type 181, that he was offered this car in the first place.
