While my own personal jury is still out on whether I want to hear Roger Waters’ revisited recording of The Dark Side Of The Moon, it’s really hard to feel warm and fuzzy about the guy when he spews out the kind of opinions he did in February.
The news of the re-recording emerged in Tristram Fane Saunders, during which Waters emphasised his lead role in the writing of that classic 1973 album, saying of his former bandmates: “They are not artists! They have no ideas, not a single one between them.” While conceding that Nick Mason “never pretended”, Waters also opined that David Gilmour and the late Rick Wright “can’t write songs”.
