Billed as a technical XC trail shoe, Fizik reckons the Vento Ferox Carbons will cover everything from CX races to gravel events.
It’s a bold claim but we’ve taken Fizik at its word and used them in gravel races and on big weekend rides.
The upper construction is an interesting one: a polyurethane-laminated material combined with a translucent mesh. It’s designed to save weight and be breathable, while also being strong enough to resist hits from rocks and vegetation. A dual-closure system consists of a micro-adjustable Boa Li2 dial in the forefoot area, and the Velcro ‘Powerstrap’ higher up the foot.
