SIX NATIONS HISTORY
Crushing disappointment has punctuated Scotland’s ambitions since starting the Six Nations era in 2000 as reigning champions. They’ve never finished in the top two, never been in contention on the big Super Saturday finale.
Away wins in Wales, England and France in recent years have offered hope of something more tangible, but that hope has been routinely dashed. Last year is a case in point:in the first round, then flopped against a Wales side there for the taking. Not once in the whole of 2022 were they able to string together consecutive victories.
