This impressive-looking four-poster, hung with silk fringing and inlaid with foliage and anthemia, looks as though it could have been made yesterday, but dates to around 1770. The glamorous piece, comprising sycamore, holly and amaranth wood, was part of the collection amassed by Lord and Lady Weinstock at their 18th-century home Bowden Park in Wiltshire, which was sold at Christie’s last autumn.
