Water-use licence backlog prevails - Agri SA

n his Budget Speech in February, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana stated that the backlog in issuing water-use licences had been cleared, and that new licences were being issued within 90 days. However, according to Agri SA, the backlog was an ongoing frustration. Janse Rabie, head that the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) had made inroads into the backlog, but that there were still many pending water-use licence applications. "Regional and provincial municipal offices have also confirmed that they still have backlogs."
