I have found it easier to have more than one compost bin. If you have room use/create separate heaps by filling one bin and leaving it to work. Start a new heap and carry on doing this until the first bin is ready. You can still turn the heaps to get them working. This saves putting fresh compost material on top of older compost. When the first bin is ready all the compost can be used and the bin filled again. I
