Editor’s test

This gun impressed me. At just under £2,000, it’s not cheap. That sort of money will give you a choice of some fine shotguns, new and secondhand, so I had high expectations. Throw into the mix that the past couple of guns I tested had been around the £8,000 mark and shot beautifully, and the Kilworth already had a lot to live up to. Despite this, it managed to impress me. It felt well put together, had a refined trigger-pull and handled beautifully. What more could you ask for?

The other thing that set it apart for me was that I could easily hit clay targets using the gun. Most people struggle with side-by-sides, especially if they are used to over-and-unders, but with the Kilworth I was slaying the clays with ease. Out of
