The 2023 KX250 is now the third generation of the current model KX250. First to hit the market in 2021 with an electric start and hydraulic clutch, the KX250 boasted that it was the lites class bike with the most peak horsepower. While this claim might be true, we were disappointed as test riders to find this peak horsepower figure did not directly translate well to the track. The KX250 had a very mellow low to mid-range power and had to be revved hard constantly to really appreciate the full potential of the power available.

Three years down the line and Kawasaki have taken feedback on board and revised the engine to improve the bottom- to mid-range power to better bridge that gap between the bottom-end and the monstrous top-end power that the KX250 produces. Along with the engine updates, the KX250 gets some stiffer suspension settings, a fatter rear tyre and some new, lighter footpeg mounts that offset the weight of
