ED RIDES THE SAORC TO TRAIN AND QUALIFY AS HE PREPARES TO TACKLE FINKE

READERS ROAD TO FINKE PART 3

I entered Finke in the first four minutes, shelled out the $900 entry fee and secured a spot in the 250cc two-stroke class. Originally I bought the GASGAS EC 250 to compete in the SAORC and ride singletrail. I assumed I'd go back to a big four-stroke if I made the grade for Finke but that's the bike I have, so that's the class I entered.

I was pumped to see that the 2023 rider list was arguably the best in its history, adding to last year with entries from legends Toby Price (KTM 500 EXC) and Daniel Sanders (GG MC 450). For those that don't know, Sanders is also a Finke rookie on a GASGAS, just like me. Couldn't be more similar in fact.

So from here it's about shelling out large amounts of coin on things like accommodation and organising my mates who are frothing to come along. It's going to be a
