A huge amount of imagination and a sprinkling of good faith was required to take on a run-down Georgian property that had been untouched since the 1960s – but luckily Sarah and Andy Farr have that in spades. Six years ago, the couple were living in a small village in Hampshire when they decided they wanted to take on a new project, and were keen to be nearer to Sarah’s parents further along the south coast. After hours scrolling online and viewing ten houses in person, it was a Grade IIlisted Georgian cottage in Kent, notcaught their eye. ‘Andy had a long list of requirements, which included minimal street lamps outside, and we loved the untouched nature of the house,’ explains Sarah. ‘It hadn’t had any work done for decades, so it felt very much like a blank canvas.’
