Did you know that finances are the No 1 cause of arguments between couples? Almost two-thirds of us who row with our partner say we disagree over them, according to research by insurer Royal London.
It seems that we find it easier to discuss childcare, sex and even household chores with each other. Everything from different earnings, priorities and attitudes to borrowing can cause quarrels – especially if money is tight.
The research also found that a third of couples admit that they are incompatible with their partner when it comes to spending and saving, while a similar proportion keep financial secrets from their partner, such as hiding their savings or debts.
