‘We ripped everything out to create a modern space’

Taking on a building that used to belong to Bangor University and turning it into a cosy, colourful home has been quite a trial for Ruth and Glyn Sanderson Clayton, but the results have been worth all the effort, builder's dust and upheaval. ‘People warned us not to touch this property because it was falling apart,’ says Ruth. ‘But we'd been house-hunting for so long, we knew that a house of this size was a rare find. So, we ignored their good advice and decided to make an offer.’
