    The largest library in Latin America, the Biblioteca Nacional do Brazil (National Library of Brazil), is in Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the biggest national libraries in the entire world. Interestingly, an earthquake thousands of miles away in Portugal and a war helped create a domino effect that led to the establishment of this wonderful library.
