    Vin Diesel sat out the second in the hit action franchise. Instead, Paul Walker got new sidekicks in Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris and a stunt that required jumping a fastmoving car off a ramp on to a very expensive boat. Not as good as the original, but not the worst in the series either. (2003)

    A bleak and languid crime thriller that was an director Denis Villeneuve. Hugh Jackman plays the father of a girl abducted in Pennsylvania who turns vigilante. Jake Gyllenhaal is at his weary best as the investigating detective. (2013)
