The bill seeks to regulate the manufacture, sale, importing, exporting, prescribing, dispensing, and other activities involving therapeutic products. It covers three classes of products:
• – e.g. pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines, gene therapies, cell and tissue therapies, and ‘biologics’ (such as donated blood,• – anything from bandages to pacemakers, dental crowns, surgical mesh, software used therapeutically, robotic surgery machines,• – e.g. vitamin and mineral supplements, herbal remedies, tinctures, homeopathics, probiotics.
