Speed events is a generic term for sprints and hillclimbs, where cars compete on an asphalt course, one at a time and solely against the clock. In many ways it is the purest form of motorsport and the UK is served by a tremendous infrastructure of events, venues and championships.
Typically, sprint courses tend to be a little longer, sometimes on old airfields, or sometimes with a lap or more around current race tracks.
