Barking? There's plenty of that going on. What we've got here is a team of sled dogs hauling a Macan. Though they're not a breakdown crew, it's actually part of their exercise regime. The vehicle's purpose in this scenario is to give the dogs something to pull against — at up to 15mph, no less. The Porsche isn't there to keep up with them, it's there to hold them back.
These are genuine Alaskan huskies, trained to tow lightweight sledges racing against other team packs over snow, ice and dryland courses. The dogs are in the charge of Scotsman, Alan Stewart, who also happens to be a Porsche buff and Macan owner. Alan and his wife, Fiona, established the Cairngorm Sleddog Centre (the first of its kind in the UK) back in December 2001.
“I've worked with sled dogs for the last thirty years,” he tell us. “We train with all-terrain vehicles and we've raced in all over the world, including the Alps and North and South America.
