If you were a fan of beat-’em-ups, arcades at the end of the Eighties were the place to be. Whether you favoured Golden Axe’s fantasy theme and spectacular magic attacks, the four-player cartoon action of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or the more traditional urban combat of Final Fight, there was something for everyone. Elsewhere in the arcades, Strider’s acrobatic action and the driving games Super Monaco GP and Hard Drivin’ turned heads.
