Maintain that 4WD

New Zealanders do it differently. That old thing about ‘Number 8 wire’ really still defines the character of the nation. Luckily.

So we are more hands-on than most when it comes to mechanical tinkering and tweaking. It's true of old school 4WDers and their beloved vehicles too.

We are the world's most avid 4WDers. New vehicle sales reports are consistently headed by 4WDs – double-cab utes, SUVs of all descriptions, cult vehicles like the Suzuki Jimny.

And out in the backblocks there's a huge army of us enjoying old-school 4WDs – Patrol, Prado, Land Rover, Land Cruiser and more.

Classic 4WDs draw crowds.
