Sat across from the pregnancy test in the sink, I couldn’t bear to look at it.

I’d been left feeling really disappointed so many times before.

My husband Daniel, 31, and I had been trying since early 2017, and now a few months in, I would have expected something to happen.

I couldn’t wait to be a mum and thought the process of getting pregnant would be quicker.

Everyone I knew who had become pregnant had done so by accident as a teen – I just assumed it would be relatively easy.

As I picked up the test, an all too familiar sinking feeling dropped through my stomach.

‘Negative,’ I said, watching Daniel’s face drop.

‘We’ll get there,’ he said. I nodded, but I couldn’t help but feel disheartened.
