Tywyn museum exhibition celebrates triple anniversaries

THE Narrow Gauge Railway Museum at theTalyllyn’sTywynWharf station has set up its annual temporary exhibition that for 2023 will focus on three sets of significant anniversaries being marked this year.

The first of these is the Glyn Valley Tramway, which celebrates the 150th anniversary of the opening of the 8¼-mile line between Chirk and Glyn Ceiriog in Denbighshire. Originally a 2ft 4¼in gauge horse-drawn line, it was increased in gauge by ¼in when steam locomotives were introduced.
