Make one cook last for a few dishes. Save money and time by making:

• a bolognaise that goes on to become a chilli then a baked potato filling; • a ratatouille that becomes the vehicle for baking eggs in, then a pasta sauce; or • a braise base to house the last of that slow-roasted lamb shoulder after it has given Add ingredients like pulses, vegies, capers, lemon, chilli, spices or olives to put a totally new spin on one of these more neutral bases.
