THE VENUE: THE ARTFUL DODGER, MICKLEGATE, YORK, UNITED KINGDOM
The venue used was The Artful Dodger public house situated on historic Micklegate in York. The current bar attracts an alternative and rocky crowd who come in for loud music and drinks and it has a Halloween all-year round feel.
Upstairs, owner Mark has worked hard to transform the space into a beautiful period function room complete with very high ceilings and large gothic arch windows which overlook the historic street below. The space has its own bar, music system and toilets and is perfect for a smaller wedding, sit down or buffet meal and of course, a party!
We wanted to showcase the space for the bar's usual customer base. The theme we knew that we wanted was the bride to wear a black dress with red roses, so this in conjunction with the venue, set the theme for the shoot.
