The VGK Outdoor and Adventure IPSC Challenge

My introduction to sports-shooting was a decade ago with Cowboy Action Shooting. The history, aliases, backstory, characters and dress-up caught me hook, line and front sight. I took to the sport like a duck to water and shortly after acquired my first (of many) firearms.

The competition side of modern pistol shooting was something I had never been introduced to, aside from the occasional YouTube video. At that stage I never knew that sports-shooting was such a large industry in South Africa. I was pleasantly surprised and participated in a few open days, but never really shot any competitions or disciplines other than Cowboy. My 3-gun was a Colt 1911, Lever-action .357 Magnum and pump-action 12 gauge in the Wild Bunch side match under the Cowboy umbrella.
