Getting a little perspective

Kicking off with a timeline exhibition held in 2019 at the Cape Institute for Architecture (CIFA), Her+ Perspective has since grown to be an accessible database that celebrates women – particularly those in the southern hemisphere – who have made a positive impact on the built environment.

The project began when the CIFA, a voluntary association in Cape Town, South Africa wanted to showcase women in the construction industry as an initiative for Women’s Month and prevailed upon a group of architects to help get the ball rolling.

The main committee members who were approached to assist had all studied at the University of Cape
