igh jewellery has long been held up as the pinnacle of craftsmanship and beauty. But as jewellery houses adapt to changes in the world, so, too, do their designs. The latest high jewellery collection from 1936-founded Paris-based maison Fred, known for its boundary-pushing use of colour and experimentation with shape and form, is an ode to transformation. Engineered to appeal to all genders, Fred's spoke to Fred's artistic director and vice president, Valérie Samuel, about how high jewellery is finding new relevance, embracing individual expression and inspiring new ways to relate to our most personal, and glittering, of possessions.
