Electricity price raised 70 times

Electricité du Liban (EDL) has finally raised the extremely low electricity tariff which has remained unchanged since the 1990s. EDL warned that it will increase the tariff further if State agencies keep on not paying their bills. A significant increase of the tariff is one of the reforms proposed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to enable the country to benefit from an IMF rescue program.
