MATERIALS

• 55cm (⅝yd) white tone-on-tone print fabric (hexagons and background) • 10cm (⅛yd) each of six blue print fabrics (hexagons) • 15cm (¼yd) blue print fabric (binding) • 55cm (⅝yd) backing fabric • 55cm (⅝yd) lightweight fusible fleece/batting such as Vilene H630 • 37 fusible/iron-on 1½in hexagon papers (optional) — see Note. Alternatively, template plastic and stiff paper to make your own traditional papers • Appliqué glue such as Roxanne's Glue Baste It • Glue pen such as Sewline • Cosmo Seasons variegated embroidery floss: 3151 and 8040 • Fine machine-sewing thread such as Bottomline in silver or light grey (hand stitching) • Fine permanent-marking pen or sharp pencil • Erasable fabric-marking pen • 15cm (6in) embroidery hoop (optional) Rotary cutter, ruler and mat • Sewing machine with ¼in foot • General
