Finished size: 142cm (56in) square
Note: Requirements are based on fabric 107cm (42in) wide except for the white fabric, which needs to be 150cm (60in) wide to avoid having a seam through the centre of the appliqué background. Kellie used a 60% wool/40% polyester batting for her project. Cut the fabrics in the order listed in each step to ensure you will have sufficient for your project. Instructions are provided for appliqué worked by machine, but the design lends itself to a variety of appliqué techniques. Adapt the instructions to suit the method of your choice. The finished dimensions of this quilt are somewhat smaller than one would expect given the size of the finished quilt top. This is due to ‘shrinkage’ that occurs with dense quilting and washing.
