In this open-plan space, Wolf used shou sugi ban, an age-old Japanese method of charring a wood surface to weatherproof the timber, for the bespoke cupboards. The table and benches were designed by Wolf.

The building’s structural timber, cladding and flooring are from radiata pine trees felled according to ancient moon-phase harvesting so it dries quicker and straighter.
