“The Victorians were the first generation of the lower-middle classes to actively garden, Shirley Hibberd, was the first to promote this idea in his books and magazine articles – and in this week’s issue, we feature two Victorian favourites: the perennial viola and the auricula theatre. I think the latter deserves a revival: what do you think?”
