30 YEARS AGO – FEBRUARY 1993

A top-of-the-line ’Cruiser took on a Vogue Rangie in this month’s cover story and major comparo. While the Rangie had a 3.9-litre V8 under the bonnet, the Tojo had the then new 4.5-litre twin-cam straight-six petrol engine, which, maybe surprising to some, pipped the Rangie in both power and torque. Not as surprising though as Moonie, our tester in this report, would have taken the ’Cruiser home.
