Over the years, Samsung has been consistently good at delivering a performance-to-value sweet spot at the lower end of the TV market. With its typical aversion to low-contrast IPS LCD panels, it has long been the brand to consider if you are after a cheap LCD TV. It’s a shame then that the UE50BU8000 doesn’t turn out to be quite the sure-fire budget TV hit we hoped for.
